"Hang on Giles, it is but Thursday. You've got a whole two days left!" Gentle reader, I am one of those fortunate few who have forgone salary for a reduced working week, and as a result, Thursday is the new Friday as far as I am concerned. I've decided to celebrate by working at home, to further progress the thinking on the Proof of Concept.

Today turned out to be a very productive day, although not quite as anticipated.

My plan was to create an architecture overview for the proof of concept, and following a brief interrupt to attend another call, I began reviewing the available documentation.

In the office at 8:30, and more reconnection with colleagues, including some musing about the likely impact of a Scottish Yes vote (for independence...).

The general consensus was that it would be an extremely busy (for which read lucrative) time for the IT industry, with any cross-border organisations (banks, retailers, employers, goverment agencies) needing to be segregated and/or have entirely new systems set up.

Today turned out to be fairly typical of a day in the office. Here's how it played out:
